The Globe Theatre

  • Founded by the pioneering American actor and director Sam Wanamaker, Shakespeare’s Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare’s work and the playhouse for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education.
  • Taking on the task of cleaning a building which is an authentic reconstruction of Shakespeare’s original 1599 playhouse means Principle Cleaning Services had to abandon some of its modern cleaning techniques in favour of old-fashioned elbow grease.

Lloyd’s of London

  • The Lloyd’s building (sometimes known as the Inside-Out Building) is the home of the insurance institution Lloyd’s of London. It is located on the former site of East India House in Lime Street, in London’s main financial district, the City of London.
  • Twenty-five years after completion in 1986, the building received Grade I listing in 2011; it was the youngest structure ever to obtain this status. It is said by Historic England to be “universally recognised as one of the key buildings of the modern epoch”.
  • We are responsible for the daily cleaning of all areas which is cleaned by a variety of Hybrid Cleaning shifts with a day housekeeping and porters presence and specialist cleaning of both interior and exterior areas. The Lloyd’s building is accepted as one of the country’s most difficult and demanding buildings to clean.
  • We were heavily involved in reviewing and refreshing the entire waste management process with Lloyd’s. This included involvement in the waste tender process for award of one contract for all waste facilities and managed change of waste streams. We have also introduced WEEE collections, Glass recycling and specific cardboard bailing/collection. White paper has been separated out as a separate stream.
