Douglas Cooke, Chief Executive
As the Co-Founder of Principle
Cleaning Services, Douglas has over 35 years' experience in the cleaning
industry and runs a high quality and professional, customer focused service.
Douglas is greatly respected within the cleaning industry by his peers and
colleagues and currently holds the position of Chairman of the CSSA
(Cleaning and Support Services Association), also sits on the BICSc (British
Institute of Cleaning Science) council and is a Board Member of the British
Cleaning Council (BCC). He played rugby for various clubs including Saracens
and now referees at weekends. He is also a keen windsurfer and skier and
plays an active role in The London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy. |

Peter Smith, Managing Director
Peter Smith has recently joined the company as Managing
Director. During his long career in the cleaning industry, Peter has gained
a wealth of experience having previously been Managing Director of Advance
Cleaning, Strand and Ramoneur.
Joining a motivated senior management team, Peter will
oversee all business areas and drive the company forward to continue its
expansion into the financial, banking and educational sector. Peter enjoys
watching football, likes to play golf and has been on Antarctica – the
coldest place on Earth.

Barry Staines, Operations
Director
Barry joined the team in 2007 and has a wealth of
experience in the cleaning industry with over 40 years of service – and
still enjoys it. Highly regarded after working in big companies in cleaning,
he is also a volunteer soccer coach at a youth club and a keen painter who
enjoys travelling. He runs to raise valuable money for worthwhile charities. |

Terry Murphy,
Operations Director
Terry joined Principle Cleaning having held
high profile positions within the industry. Previously, he was responsible
for the development of sales teams, targets and budgets, and overseeing the
operations and product development departments. As a member of his local
gym, Terry likes to keep fit by running, swimming and weight training while
leading a healthy outdoor lifestyle. |

Jim Freeman, Sales & Marketing
Director
With over 16 years’ experience in the cleaning industry gained by working
his way up an enviable career path and ladder at OCS Group UK Ltd, Jim is a
highly motivated business professional. Whilst there, he held various
positions within its Aviation, Maritime and Rail operations including
managing the British Airways aircraft cleaning contract, Eurostar and
services at the Port of Dover. Jim’s all round knowledge and expertise in
management, sales and operations is invaluable to his role heading up the
Business Development Team. Jim is a trained
rugby coach who coaches his local club and enjoys cricket and squash as well
as cooking and painting in his spare time.

Liz Pippard, Executive Director
With nearly 30 years’ experience in the cleaning industry, Liz joined
Principle Cleaning in 1999 and has been at the heart of the company’s
continued growth and success. Her role is to develop relationships with
clients and the commercial aspects of Principle Cleaning. Liz loves the
diversity of the business and enjoys swimming, cycling, reading and
travelling. |

Martyn Vesey, Non-Executive
Director
Martyn started his working life as a teacher in the East End of London and
then went onto management in the retail sector for 25 years. He is very well
respected having vast experience in the cleaning industry for over 20 years
in a director level role. Martyn is also a fellow of British Institute of
Cleaning Science (BICSc), Director of the Building Cleanability Awards and
Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners. Having been a
Director General of the CSSA in the past, he also represented the UK arm of
the industry in Brussels for 4 years. Martyn has also been Chairman of
judges for the Kimberly-Clark Professional and CSSA Golden Service Awards
and also acted as a client for the procurement of cleaning and other FM
services for a major UK plc. In his spare time, Martyn takes an
important interest in current affairs and enjoys sailing. |
