We’re passionate about people, quality and innovation
Douglas Cooke, Principle’s Executive Chairman, formed the company in 1989. His ambition was to create a specialist cleaning business that focused on delivering unrivaled levels of service for the London market. His original ethos was that Principle were always ‘passionate about people, quality and innovation’ and this still underpins everything that happens in the business today.
Today, Principle Cleaning Services is a £54m+ business employing over 2,200 people who service over 250 clients including many of the Capital’s most iconic landmark buildings. We pride ourselves on our personal service, our ability to respond immediately to our customers’ needs and the quality of the people we employ.
Principle provides a range of cleaning services for The Office Group (TOG), a leading provider of flexible office space, meeting and co-working spaces. The company was already a partner at a small number of TOG properties and has recently added another 10 buildings to its portfolio.
Principle provides daily cleaning, housekeeping, specialist cleaning and window cleaning as well as managing washroom, waste and recycling services. We use our innovative technology to enhance quality and reduce costs.
Johan Marais, contracts manager, TOG, said “Principle have fully embraced TOG culture since the first day of our partnership. The account team work hard to understand the unique and differing needs of all the buildings within the portfolio.”
Real Estate Management (REM)
Principle began working with Real Estate Management (UK), (REM) in 2012 and has recently been awarded a contract to provide its services at three of its properties – The Shard, Park House, Oxford Street; and 48 Pall Mall, for a further five years.
This involves some of the most complex vertical cleaning required in London today. Principle will also utilise its cloud-based systems and technology in its daily on-site operations.
Simon Green, Head of Facilities Management at REM, said: “It is encouraging that after working with us for over five years, Principle have been able to demonstrate through competitive tender that they can still provide the best service proposition whilst remaining price competitive. We look forward to working with them to introduce the new initiatives that they have proposed.”
One New Change
One New Change is one of Landsec’s most prestigious London locations, attracting over 12 million visitors a year.
Principle was awarded the contract for the common parts including the malls, loading bay and windows of the office space. It has 25 full-time, on-site employees. One New Change has embraced the cloud-based technology that Principle uses as its primary operating platform.
There are many challenges to cleaning a building of this nature. There is a large recycling operation- the waste volumes are huge and require close management. External window cleaning requires a large, out of hours provision. This is a seven-day operation with an early morning ‘core clean’ from 5.00 am, supported by a dedicated and agile janitor team.
“Principle have fully embraced TOG culture since the first day of our partnership. The account team work hard to understand the unique and differing needs of all the buildings within the portfolio.”
