Principle Cleaning Services is serious about its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We have a business approach that contributes to sustainable development by delivering, economic, social and environmental benefits to all stakeholders. Our CSR initiatives operate in four key areas – Workplace, Community, Sustainability & Environment and Philanthropic.
In the workplace, our CSR programmes are focused on people. These include employment initiatives, apprenticeships, training & skills, equal opportunities and using responsibly-sourced products and services. We select the best people and give them the best training, equipment and knowledge to perform an excellent job. We want our people to have a career in cleaning and most of our senior team have progressed through the ranks. We provide our people with a route to progress in the industry with the highest levels of training, formal qualifications and opportunities to progress.
Our community CSR initiatives involve community & education, community projects, job interview support, armed forces recruitment, ELBA & recruitment and social care. For example, Michelle Reader is an artist we are using for waste to art projects who works in partnership with the Hubbub Foundation, a charity that creates environmental campaigns with a difference.
Sustainability and Environmental
Our sustainability and environmental CSR policies are designed to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. These policies fall into seven categories, covering travel, waste, managing for the long-term and the short-term, balancing competition and cooperation, creating services that meet social and environmental needs, moving towards ‘closed loop’ solutions and innovative & technological solutions.
We are heavily involved in raising funds for designated charities that both the company and our clients support. These include fun runs, cake sales, quiz nights, sponsorship and volunteering time. For example, we are a long-term supporter of the London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy.
A percentage of company profits are donated to the charity and the company and its staff regularly take part in fundraising events such as the annual London 10k run.
We are working towards achieving CSRA accreditation as a visible testimony of our investment and excellence in CSR. The accreditation shows we have integrated CSR initiatives throughout our business operations.
